Dal


Ingredients

Moong Dal-1 cup
ToorDal and Bengal gram dal- 1 tbsp each
Turmeric pdr - ¼ tsp
Onion-1
Tomatoes – ½
Greenchilli-2
Ginger - small piece
Salt to taste
Coriander leaves

Seasoning

Musturd seeds – 1tsp
Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
Asafeotida- a pinch
Oil/Ghee – 1 tsp

Method

  1. Pressure cook (3-4 whistles)all the dals together adding turmeric pdr.
  2. Cut the onions and tomatoes finely.Also cut the green chillies and ginger into small pieces.
  3. In a pan add 1 tsp oil/ghee.add mustard seed and cumin seeds.When the mustard seeds splutter add a pinch of asafeotida and onions.Fry the onions.
  4. Then add the green chillies,ginger and tomatoes. When the tomatoes soften add the cooked dal and salt to taste.Boil the dal in low flame.
  5. Garnish it with coriander leaves.
Serve hot phulkas with Dal.
